Position: Field Application Engineer – Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)

Term: Full Time / Long-Term

Location: Vista, CA. Only applicants within commuting distance of Vista will be considered.

Machine Vision Products, Inc. is a global capital equipment manufacturing company headquartered in Southern California, providing Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems to microelectronics, semiconductor, and electronics manufacturing industries. MVP provides innovative products that help manufacturers achieve higher yields, lower production costs, improve quality, and decrease time to market. MVP’s AOI systems are used worldwide in over 35 countries.

MVP is expanding its customer support base within the North America as a result of continued success and is seeking to hire a motivated technical engineer who can fill this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generation and debug of inspection programs using MVP’s programming software.
  • Develop reports to highlight MVP’s capabilities on customer products.
  • Travel to customer sites to support installed systems. Travel requirements may be 30% or greater.
  • Provide telephone and web support for all MVP’s Hardware and Software solutions.
  • Hardware support for our AOI systems.
  • Provide sales support and system demonstrations.
  • System on-site installations.
  • Provide detailed training on MVP’s Software and Hardware solutions.
  • Calibration MVPs systems to NIST standards.
  • Develop competitive benchmarks to differentiate us from the competition.
  • Reproduce customer problems for software/hardware engineering to correct, and provide interim solutions to keep our customers’ production flowing.
  • Attend trade shows as a technical representative.
  • Project management to maintain and oversee the delivery of critical project milestones

Basic qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communications (verbal and written) skill
  • Advanced computer and networking skills
  • Effective problem solving and troubleshooting abilities – must be engineering-minded
  • Team player with positive attitude and willingness to teach others acquired knowledge

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Technical degree or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of electronics.
  • Technical or engineering experience within the Semiconductor, Microelectronics or SMT manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • AOI experience a plus.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and passport. Average 30% travel; up to 60% possible at times.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

MVP is expanding its engineering team in North America. As a result of our continued success, we are seeking to hire a motivated technical writer who can fill this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content.
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Using your deep understanding of MVP’s solutions write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights language that sets our users up for success with comprehensive documentation including:
  • Detailed System and Software Operation
  • Support and Service procedures.
  • System installation and Safety.
  • Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage of documentation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications.
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for documentation improvement.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent. (Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field is preferred).
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
  • Strong English Language Skills.
  • S. Citizenship required.
  • Expert knowledge of Word, Photoshop, and Adobe tools.
  • Team player with positive attitude and willingness to teach others acquired knowledge.
  • Certification through the Society for Technical Communicators would be a bonus.

Position: Production Inventory Clerk           

Term: Full Time / Long-Term

Location: Vista, CA. Only applicants within commuting distance of Vista will be considered.

Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities include:

  • Receive incoming materials and report if inventory arrives damaged.
  • Keep thorough records of items received.
  • Logs items received, by part number into computer system.
  • Allocated inventory to the proper areas.
  • Maintain a clean and safe stockroom
  • Pulls and distributes parts to production personnel.
  • Verifies documentation against physical stock and inventory counts.
  • Issue components to assembly to satisfy daily, weekly and month schedules.

Stockroom Clerk Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Have a basic understanding of computers, Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and a good work ethic.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
